The views from the top - up and down the coastline of Lake Garda - are amazing! Well worth the grueling hike up. It took us 40 minutes to hike up - similar to walking up stairs the whole way. Hiking boots would be best (rocky path), but gym shoes work fine. About half shade, half sun the full way. Take water :)
Excellent half day trip to Sirmione / Lake Garda from Verona. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Boat trip on the lake was very good with stunning views. Drive to the lake is 50 mins approx. from Verona in a clean air conditioned minibus. Boat trip first when we got there & then a walk around beautiful Sirmione.
Catch your breath, take in the gorgeous vistas, and then, keep climbing! Just before arriving at the top, there are two separate staircases that are very steep (almost ladder-like). Step carefully and watch your head! At the top, walk around the tower and soak up the views of the Sirmione peninsula, Lake Garda, and the castle walls below.
